Our History

Founded in 1998 in Washington DC as Heartlands International, Inc. a 501c3 nonprofit partner of a for-profit of the same name, we instituted active programming in 2002. By 2006, we had gained sufficient momentum to differentiate ourselves from the parent organization.

Our new name, Partners for Community Solutions, is more descriptive of our guiding principles and reflects our commitment to tackle a wider array of social and economic issues facing communities around the world.

We now operate out of Arlington VA with a growing staff and ambitions to do more with and for communities of all types locally, nationally, internationally and virtually.
